Beyond The Clouds al MArRC

Site-specific installation at the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria Beyond The Clouds at MArRC is a site-specific installation presented by Artshares at the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria on 22 December 2024. The project brought the poetic vision of Beyond The Clouds into one of Southern Italy’s most important cultural institutions, creating a dialogue between contemporary art, memory and historical heritage. The installation explores the role of art in times of conflict, starting from the symbolic and emotional impact of the war between Russia and Ukraine. Through a suspended, light-based sculptural work, the project reflects on the possibility of art becoming a space for encounter, dialogue and shared imagination, even when history seems to move towards division and destruction. Inside the museum, the artwork unfolds through transparent, luminous and fluid forms, with blue, purple and pink tones spreading across the architecture. The installation interacts with the staircases, the walls and the museum’s internal perspectives, creating a visual path that feels both fragile and powerful. Its floating shapes suggest clouds, fragments, wounds and new forms of connection. At the heart of the project is the idea of art as a universal language: a way to move beyond suffering, beyond the present moment, and beyond the barriers created by war. Beyond The Clouds becomes a symbolic bridge, turning the museum space into a place of reflection, hope and cultural exchange. Through this project, Artshares confirms its commitment to creating artistic experiences that connect contemporary creativity with meaningful cultural contexts. At MArRC, the installation did not simply occupy a space: it transformed it, opening a dialogue between ancient heritage and the urgent questions of our time.
