Ilya Fedotov-Fedorov

Ilya Fedotov-Fedorov is a New York-based interdisciplinary artist with a background in genetic bioengineering and philology, who explores themes of queerness, human ecology, and bodily metamorphosis. In his video work, Fedotov-Fedorov uses choreography based on the movements of insects, mollusks, and reptiles to blur the perceptible boundary between human and animal. Similarly, in his work with installation, sculpture, painting, and other media, Fedotov-Fedorov dismantles the social constructs that hinder self identification outside of the norm.
